Kyma Satin Custom sheer roller shade for indoor use

Kyma Satin is a made-to-measure roller shade that catches the light instead of blocking it. In Greek, Kyma means wave, and that's the shape we chose for the painted aluminium fascia, which closes off the window in one continuous curve. Its sheer fabric, Satin, with glossy yarns and an open weave, makes the shade a good fit for kitchens, living rooms and rooms that get little light.

  • Lets the light in, and you can see in from outside: 30% to 49% of visible light depending on the colour, the highest of all our fabrics.
  • Fascia and bottom rail in the same powder-coated aluminium alloy: solid metal, in six colours.
  • Glossy yarns mixed with matte ones: when light hits the fabric, only the glossy yarns light up, creating a play of lines. Order fabric samples.
  • Can be motorised: the motor recharges via USB-C and is controlled by remote control or voice assistant.

WARNING – CHILD SAFETY: The chain poses a potential strangulation hazard to children. Keep the chain out of reach of children. Do not place cots, beds or furniture near the blind: children could climb up and reach the chain. Do not knot the chain. Install and use the safety devices supplied (chain tensioner and safety hooks) correctly, following the instructions. The chain tensioner must be fixed to the wall with slight tension. The chain must stay at least 1.5 m above the floor.

Indoor. It's designed for windows, French doors and glazed walls in homes, studies and offices.

It doesn't: it's the fabric that lets through the most light, 30% to 49% of visible light depending on the colour. It covers the glass and keeps the room bright. For darkness, there are the Blend Blackout and Canvas Blackout fabrics; for softer, more subdued light, the light-filtering fabrics Horizon, Earth and Fine Line.

The size of the blind and how you choose to operate it. Our design service is free and helps you decide both.

The plate. Kyma has a wave profile, Recta a geometric one. Fabrics, sizes, motor and performance are the same.

The measuring guide covers the two typical cases, inside the recess and outside the recess, with the tolerances to follow.

A little during the day, yes in the evening. Satin has an open weave, and under the EN 14501 standard it rates 0 out of 4 for night-time privacy in three of its four colours: with the lights on, people outside can see in. If privacy matters to you, take a look at the light-filtering fabrics Horizon and Earth, or the blackout fabrics.

Satin: 100% polyester, 140 g/m² and 0.48 mm thick. It's the lightest of our indoor fabrics.

The amount of light and privacy. A sheer fabric like Satin lets through 30% to 49% of visible light and doesn't hide the room in the evening. A light-filtering fabric like Horizon stays between 19% and 44% and rates 2 out of 4 for night-time privacy, while Earth goes down to 6%. The fabric, plate, sizes and motor stay the same.

Not much: Satin reflects 34% to 44% of solar energy depending on the colour, and it's the fabric that lets the most through. If summer heat is a problem for you, take a look at Earth, which reaches 49%, or a blackout fabric, which reaches 75%.

It's the standard that rates how a blind performs on a scale from 0 to 4. Satin scores 3 or 4 for daylight utilisation depending on the colour, and it's the only one of our fabrics to reach 4. On the other hand, it scores 0 for glare control and 0 or 1 for night-time privacy.
