Manual Zip Screen x Lyra T6 ZIP Closure for Bioclimatic Pergola
The Manual Zip Screen is the side enclosure system designed to transform Lyra T6 from a simple cover into a truly protected outdoor living space. The patented ZIP system locks the fabric into the aluminium side guides: no loose sections, no gaps for wind, no entry points for insects. The result is a pergola you can enjoy all year round, sheltered from rain, heat, and unpredictable weather conditions, perfectly suited to British gardens and outdoor living spaces.
- ZIP system that secures the fabric into the side guides: wind won’t lift the fabric, even during strong gusts.
- Full perimeter sealing against insects: no gaps between fabric and structure, no mosquitoes.
- Thermal barrier that reduces heat loss: helps maintain a more stable internal temperature.
- Exclusive compatibility with Lyra T6: T6 aluminium guides designed for seamless integration into the pergola profile.

The pergola that truly protects.
A pergola without side enclosures is just a roof. With the Manual Zip Screen, it becomes a room. The ZIP system with lateral guide in T6 aluminium keeps the fabric locked across the full height: it won't billow, won't flap, won't give way.
The perimeter seal closes every gap between fabric and structure, no mosquito gets in, no gust of wind passes through. Use your pergola whenever you want, however you want.

Fixed guide ZIP system
The nylon slider runs along the aluminium lateral guides and locks the fabric across the full height. The fabric remains anchored even in strong wind: no flapping, no lateral billowing, no premature deterioration from mechanical stress.
Fabric with 5% openness factor
The technical polyester FAB5SJ with a 5% openness factor filters direct light, protects against UV rays and maintains outward visibility. It blocks sun and heat without completely closing off the view: you are protected, not walled in.
Thermal and acoustic barrier
The fabric layer creates an air cushion between the outside and the interior of the pergola. It reduces heat loss on cool evenings and lowers the perceived temperature during the hottest hours. The intensity of lateral wind and noise is also attenuated.
Total anti-insect seal
The perimeter guide closes the contact between the fabric and the pergola profiles on all four sides of the screen. There are no residual gaps at the edges. Mosquitoes cannot find a single millimetre of opening to get through. Dinners and evenings outdoors without repellents.
6063-T6 aluminium structure
Guides and profiles in 6063-T6 aluminium alloy with Akzo Nobel powder coating. The same alloy used in architecture and the aerospace industry: corrosion-resistant, stable under thermal variations. The powder finish does not crack or fade.
Simple manual operation
Opening and closing with a practical integrated handle: a downward movement lowers the panel, an upward one raises it back. The included locking cord allows the screen to be stopped at any intermediate position. No electricity required.

FAQ
FAQ
You can install the ZIP Screen on one, two, three, or all sides of the Lyra T6, in any combination. Each unit is sold per side. This lets you choose which sides to protect based on exposure and the needs of your outdoor space, making it ideal for British gardens and terraces.
A traditional roller shade has free edges at the sides: it billows and flaps in the wind, allows gaps for insects, and is less effective as a thermal barrier. A ZIP Screen features a slider that runs within closed side guides: the fabric is locked along the perimeter, doesn’t move in the wind, and leaves no openings—ideal for more comfortable outdoor living in British gardens and terraces.
Yes, you can. The ZIP Screen is designed for year-round use. The technical polyester fabric is weather-resistant, and the T6 aluminium frame is unaffected by temperature changes. During the winter months, if your pergola is equipped with heating, the ZIP Screen helps create a noticeably warmer environment compared to an open space—perfect for enjoying British gardens and outdoor living spaces even in colder seasons. Made in Italy, it reflects a blend of refined design and reliable performance.
Yes, the ZIP Screen is sold separately. However, as it is designed exclusively for the Lyra T6, it cannot be installed on pergolas from other manufacturers. If you are considering purchasing the Lyra T6, we recommend planning your ZIP Screens from the outset to optimise installation.
The ZIP Screen is available in matt grey RAL 7016 and matt white RAL 9016, the same finishes available for the Lyra T6. We recommend you select the same colour as the pergola for optimal visual integration.
At the moment, the ZIP Screen is available in the two standard finishes RAL7016 and RAL9016. For custom colour requests on large quantities, contact our team: we assess each project on a case-by-case basis.
The side guides are designed to integrate with the vertical profiles of the Lyra T6 with minimal bulk. The visual result is a clean, linear closure that matches the pergola’s minimalist design—perfect for British gardens and terraces. When not in use, the screen retracts into the top, almost completely disappearing from view.
Yes. Its T6 aluminium construction with Akzo Nobel coating and technical polyester fabric makes it ideal for high-use environments such as restaurants, hotels, bars with outdoor seating areas, and hospitality venues. For commercial installations, contact our team for a dedicated consultation.
Yes. The manual cord operation lets you stop the roller shade at any intermediate position. You can close just the lower half for wind protection while keeping ventilation at the top, or open it partially to create partial side shade—ideal for comfortable outdoor living spaces in British gardens.
The openness factor is the percentage of the fabric surface that is actually open, meaning the gaps between the yarns. With 5%, 95% of the surface is solid fabric: very little direct light gets through, 95% of UV rays are blocked, yet the shade is not fully opaque. You can still see through it, although with reduced visibility—ideal for maintaining comfort and privacy in British gardens and outdoor living spaces.
Technical polyester is naturally moisture-resistant: it does not significantly absorb water and dries quickly. The fibre is treated to resist the formation of mould, making it ideal for outdoor living spaces, including British gardens. We still recommend that during extended periods of non-use, such as winter, you keep the awning rolled up to preserve its performance over time.
The ZIP system with closed side guides ensures greater wind resistance than traditional side roller shades without guides. The fabric, secured along the entire perimeter, is not subjected to concentrated stress. In extreme wind conditions, we recommend rolling up the shade as a precaution, just as you would with any outdoor textile element. Designed and crafted in Italy, it brings reliable performance and refined style to British gardens, terraces and outdoor living spaces.
The ZIP Screen is designed as a sun shading system, wind barrier and insect screen, not as a waterproof barrier. The 5% openness technical polyester fabric is not waterproof. For protection against driving rain, the Lyra T6 with louvred roof is already your first shield; the ZIP Screen completes the lateral protection—ideal for comfortable outdoor living in British gardens and terraces, with the quality of Made in Italy.
Akzo Nobel is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of industrial coatings for aluminium. The powder coating process creates a compact layer that resists corrosion, abrasion and weathering. The colour retains its tone over time without cracking or fading for years, making it ideal for outdoor living spaces such as British gardens and terraces.
The edge of the fabric is reinforced with a cord that fits into the channel of the side guide. As the roller shade moves down or up, the cord slides داخل the guide and locks the fabric laterally along the full height. There are no visible brackets or fixing points: the hold is continuous, linear and without weak spots—ideal for neat, secure shading in British gardens and outdoor living spaces.
Yes. The technical polyester fabric does not absorb dirt. For routine cleaning, a damp cloth is sufficient or, for more stubborn stains, use water with a mild soap. Avoid harsh detergents, solvents, or directing high-pressure water jets onto the fabric.
With an openness factor of 5%, the ZIP Screen blocks 95% of direct lateral solar radiation. This significantly reduces UV exposure for people inside the pergola during the times when the sun is low on the horizon—early morning and late afternoon—helping you enjoy your outdoor living space in British gardens and terraces with greater comfort and protection.
Yes. The side closure creates a barrier that reduces the intensity of wind entering the pergola, also softening external ambient noise. It’s not soundproofing, but the screening effect improves overall comfort during windy evenings—ideal for enjoying British gardens and outdoor living spaces. Designed and crafted in Italy, it reflects the quality and attention to detail of true Made in Italy.
Installation is designed to be carried out by two people. The included manual guides you step by step through the process.
No. Standard tools are sufficient: a drill with a metal bit, a screwdriver, an Allen key and a spirit level. The included fixing kit contains all the necessary screws and brackets.
Installation involves fixing the side guides to the vertical posts of the Lyra T6 using brackets and screws. The extent of drilling required depends on the specific configuration of your pergola. The technical manual clearly indicates the designated fixing points.
You can remove the fabric from the side guide by taking off the top cap of the guide itself. This operation does not require removing the entire structure. You can wash the fabric panel separately if needed, then reinsert it into the guide in the correct position—ideal for keeping your outdoor living space in British gardens neat and well maintained.
The ZIP Screen features a practical handle: simply grab it and push down to lower the panel, or lift it to roll it back up. The included control cord lets you secure the roller shade at any intermediate position without having to hold it in place.
A stuck slider is usually caused by an obstruction in the guide channel (dirt, small debris) or excessive lateral tension. Check that the guide is clean and that the fabric is not creased. If the issue persists, contact Maanta customer service.
You can leave the aluminium frame installed all year round, as T6 aluminium is not affected by weather changes. As for the fabric, if you expect long periods of non-use, it’s advisable to keep it rolled up or remove the textile panel and store it in a dry place—ideal for keeping your outdoor living spaces, including British gardens and terraces, neat and protected.
Yes. The aluminium structure and fixing system are designed to be removable. You can dismantle and reinstall the ZIP Screen without damaging the components, as long as the operation is carried out carefully and by following the instructions.
Maanta 2-year warranty from the date of purchase, covering defects caused by manufacturing faults in the components under normal use conditions.
Yes, in accordance with Maanta’s return policy. The product must be returned intact, not installed, with all components and in its original packaging.
