It connects the corners of the shade sail to the anchor points of your system: wall eyelets, tensioners, and pole tops. It is the junction point between the shade sail and the support structure. Without a proper attachment, the shade sail cannot be tensioned correctly or removed without difficulty.

It depends on the shape of your shade sail: a triangular sail uses 3 carabiners (one per corner), while a quadrilateral sail uses 4. If your shade sail has additional tensioning points, the number may increase. Check the instructions for your Maanta shade sail or get in touch with us for a precise calculation.

Yes, the DIN 5299 Form C carabiner is a widely used industry standard. If your shade sail's eyelets and anchor points are compatible in size, it will work with other systems too. Always check the dimensions before purchasing.

DIN 5299 is the German industrial standard for spring snap hooks. "Form C" refers to the specific geometry: an open C-shaped body with a spring-loaded hook on the long side and a fixed eye on the opposite side. This shape ensures proper load alignment and prevents accidental opening under tension.

Stainless steel resists corrosion even in coastal or high-humidity environments. It is the ideal choice for permanent or seaside installations. Galvanised steel is suitable for standard outdoor use, but when exposed to salt air or prolonged moisture, it tends to oxidise over time. If you are unsure, go with stainless steel: it will last far longer.

No. The Muscle Kit x3 includes a proprietary attachment system that is already integrated. For all other Maanta wall kits (EZ Wall Fix, Wall Mounting Kit Nautical Rope), the D60 is fully compatible.

Press the spring hook downward with your thumb, insert the shade sail's eyelet into the opening, then release: the mechanism closes automatically. To detach, press the hook again and slide the eyelet out. No tools required.

The stainless steel version requires no periodic maintenance. The galvanised version deserves an annual inspection: if you notice surface rust, replace the part before it affects the load capacity. In both cases, check the spring action once a season.

The 2-year legal warranty covers manufacturing defects and non-conformity at the time of delivery. If the carabiner arrives with a faulty spring, structural deformations, or not matching the stated dimensions, get in touch and we will replace it.

Report the damage to the courier at the time of delivery, then contact our customer service team with photos of the damage and the packaging. We will arrange a replacement. If the damage is not visible on the outside, you still have time to let us know after opening the parcel.
